Ireland – We Don’t Like Cricket, We Love It!

As Irish people rush out to buy rule books explaining this new bizarre game called cricket, in which men in wolly jumpers stand around and wait patiently for tea time, news filtered through that Ireland had won again in the cricket world cup, this time against Bangladesh. The winning margin was 74 runs – whatever than means.

Share prices in sheep farms jumped throughout the country as a new generation of Irish youngsters queued up this morning outside farm-wear shops to buy a white wholly sweaters with the favourite player’s name emblazened across the back. Now, what’s the difference between a backward square leg and a silly point…
